The background to many of my woodland scenes is dyed silk throwsters' waste, which is a waste product from silk manufacturing. On top of this pieces of merino 'tops' have been needlefelted into position. Various kinds of yarn are then used for the trees, and the flowers, St John's Wort and honeysuckle, are embroidered with stranded cotton.

The size of the embroidery is about 9.5 cm (3.75")square.

The size including the mount is about 23 cm (9") by 21.5 cm (8.00")
